Q: What is a full application package? A: 7 copies of the Official Application for your division, 7 copies of your platform page (optional), a contestant photo emailed to the director, signed contestant contract, and all contestant and sponsor fees paid.
Q: I've never been in a pageant before, can I still compete? A: Absolutely! There is no experience required or necessary.
Q: Are there any city or local preliminary competitions? A: No. The state level is the first pageant and is the preliminary to the International pageants.
Q: Are there local crowns for contestants? A: Yes. local crowns are available for purchase by contestants after the initial application fee is received.
Q: Can I obtain sponsors to help defray the cost of competing? A: Absolutely! Sponsors are allowed and encouraged, but not required.
Q: If I get a sponsor after I have paid, what happens to the sponsorship? A: Any sponsorship received will be FULLY reimbursed to you after your contestant fees and any other expenses are covered.
Q: What is a platform? A: A platform is a charity or cause you want to advocate for the year. It can be an established charity or a cause. This should be a cause you care about and/or are involved in. There is no right or wrong platform as long as you are passionate about it.
Q: How do I make my platform strong? A: Just be involved! The sooner you enter, the longer you have to use their local Illinois title to make appearances and become knowledgeable and active in your platform! Remember, you do not have to have an official position with an organization to be an advocate!
Q: What are some mistakes a contestant can make before the pageant? A: Not visiting the International web site for your division to read the rules, see the videos, and get excited!

Q: Is there a contestant agreement? A: Yes. It is simply a contract of conduct for the pageant.
Q: What if I don't have a talent? A: No talent is required. The International Pageant does not have a talent competition.
Q: What time commitment is involved in being a local title-holder? A: You may devote as much (or as little) time as you desire, are able, in regards to promoting your title and making appearances. We suggest that each local title-holder make at least one appearance in their community a month, but this will vary each contestant's individual schedule.
