The director of the theater recently inform us that the original date of August 29, 2010 was going to be unavailable. Faced with the choice of a new location or moving the date, it was decided that maintaining the location of a first class facility and stage crew was going to be more important . Therefore, the decision was made to move the date to August 22, 2010. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. However, after speaking with some potential contestants, I have found that this new date might actually be less intrusive on the start of a the academic year. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions.

Guidelines for the Early Bird Drawing:

· All contestant entries must be FULLY PAID contestants of the 2011 Illinois International Pageant. Only payment is due. Applications are not required for this drawing and are due August 13, 2010. Click here to enter the pageant!
· Fully paid contestants will also receive one additional entry for each ad sold for the 2011 program book, including personal ads. Only payment for the ad is due. Ad copy is due August 13, 2010.
· The tickets will be presented only to the winner. The winner may bring a guest if she chooses to use both tickets on one Finals Event. If she chooses to attend both Finals Events, the tickets will be for her alone. THIS PRIZE IS NOT TRANSFERABLE.
· Remember, a contestant may self sponsor her entry fee. If after the July 1 Early Bird deadline other sponsors are obtained, Illinois International Pageants will reimburse the contestants in excess of fees and ad costs as stated in the Pageant Information document.
· The director reserves the right to interpret and alter the guidelines to maintain fairness and intent of this drawing for Illinois International Pageants, the drawing winner, and the contestants.

Q: Are there tiaras and sashes available this year?
A: Yes, however neither come with registration. Tiaras have always been and remain an option for contestants after the first $100 is paid. This year, sashes are an option and not included with the contestant fee. This will allow contestants to enter up to the deadline without us trying to have a sash completed in time for the pageant. If you have competed before and you maintain your local title, you may use the sash from a previous year. For information on how you can order these items, please contact the director.

Q: What is a platform anyway?
A: A platform is a charity or cause you want to advocate for the year. It can be an established charity like the Red Cross or a cause like education. It is best to have something that is impacting or has an impact on the nation or world. This should be a cause you care about and/or are involved in. Contact the director for more details or information if you need.

Q: How do I make my platform strong?
A: This is a good question. Just be involved in your platform! 2011 contestants have a long time to use your Illinois title to make appearances and become knowledgable and active! Remember, you do not have to have an official position with an organization to be an advocate!

Q: Can I get a DVD of previous pageants?
A: Yes. Just send the director an email at dbeering@yahoo.com for details. DVDs are $40.00 each plus shipping. You can buy copies of the 2008, 2009, and 2010 Illinois International Pageants. Buy all three for $100 and FREE SHIPPING!

Q: What are some mistakes a contestant can make before the pageant?
A: This is a good one! I’ll add as I think of more...
-Not reading information sent by the director
- Not asking the director your questions
- Preparing for this like a stereotypical beauty pageant. Do your homework ladies! This is a platform based pageant.
- Not visiting the International web site for your division to read the rules, see the videos, and get excited!
- Not having a real platform
- Entering later rather than sooner!
- Not coming to the seminars offered
- Not attending the International Pageant this summer

Q: Is it possible to get past program books?
A: Yes. They are $10.00 plus shipping.

Q: What are the costs for ads in the program book?

PROGRAM BOOK ADS – The following rates applied to 2011 program book ads:
·        Outside Back Cover       $500.00  (Must be confirmed with the director)
·        Full Page                          $175.00
·        ½ Page                             $100.00

Q: Will I have to have my full application package submitted in order to attend [the seminar]?
A: No. The cost of the seminar is to have your first $100.00 of contestant fees paid. If you are not sure if you are going to enter, you may come to the seminar for $100.00 and it will be applied toward your fees if you decide to enter the 2011 pageant.

Q: Will the opening number require a black dress?
A: No. The Miss and Teen have a Fun Fashion competition and will be wearing that for the opening so that they can go right into the first competition. I'm asking the Mrs. contestants to wear something in kind. A black cocktail dress is fine. You will not be judged on it, but the judges will see you. Plan accordingly.

Q: What is happening with the aerobic wear?
A: All contestants can choose to wear a sport bra, tank top or T-shirt. Bottoms MUST have at least a 3 inch inseam (MEASURED ONCE IT IS ON!!!)! No bathing suit bottom or trunks allowed! Biker shorts are a good option. Yoga pants are permitted. NO LOW RISE BOTTOMS!

Q: Is there a contestant agreement this year?
A: Yes. It is simply a contract of conduct for the pageant.
